Fast, Reliable Electrical Services in Secret Harbour

Secret Harbour was built around the golf links and the beach, and it shows in the housing. Bigger blocks, plenty of double-storey homes, pools and proper outdoor entertaining areas. That means the electrical work here leans towards upgrades and additions rather than basic repairs, and a fair bit of it is outdoors or in awkward spots. We're based in Rockingham, a short run up the freeway, so we're in Secret Harbour constantly. Our licensed electricians (WA Electrical Contractor Licence EC15334) work to Australian Standards, quote honestly up front, and leave your home and gardens as we found them.

Common Electrical Issues We Fix in Secret Harbour Homes

Secret Harbour's larger family homes come with more outdoor infrastructure than most suburbs in the region, and that drives the work we're called out for:

Pool and spa electrical compliance

Pools are everywhere in Secret Harbour, and pool electrical work has strict rules around RCD protection, equipotential bonding, the placement of power points near water and the safe installation of underwater lighting. We regularly find pump circuits without proper protection, or lights and points sitting inside the exclusion zone. We correct it and certify the work.

Double-storey homes and awkward cable runs

A lot of Secret Harbour homes are two storeys, which means there's no roof space above the ground floor ceilings to run new cable through. Adding a downlight, a fan or a power point downstairs takes proper planning rather than brute force. We work out the cleanest route first so you're not left with unnecessary patching and repainting.

Alfresco and outdoor entertaining upgrades

Outdoor kitchens, ceiling fans, strip heaters, weatherproof power points, TVs and speakers under the alfresco are among our most requested Secret Harbour jobs. All of it needs weatherproof-rated fittings and correctly protected circuits, particularly this close to the coast where cheap outdoor gear fails within a couple of seasons.

Reticulation, bore pumps and garden lighting

The bigger landscaped blocks around the golf course fringe usually run reticulation controllers, bore pumps and low-voltage garden lighting. Controllers fail, buried cable gets cut during landscaping, and pump circuits are often the first thing to trip after heavy rain. We fault-find and rewire these properly rather than patching them.

Switchboards carrying pool, aircon and EV together

A typical Secret Harbour home now runs a pool pump, ducted air conditioning, a workshop or garage circuit and increasingly an EV charger, all from a board that was sized for a much simpler house. We upgrade the switchboard and rebalance the circuits so it copes with everything running on a January afternoon.

Secret Harbour Electrician FAQs

Clear answers to common residential and commercial electrical queries

We're based in Rockingham, roughly 15 minutes up the freeway, so most jobs can be booked same-day or next-day. We also run emergency callouts around the clock, and can generally have someone at your door within the hour.

It's usually moisture getting into the pump, the isolator or the underground cable feeding it, and the RCD is doing exactly what it should. We test the circuit, find the point where it's leaking to earth, and repair or replace it. We also check the bonding and clearances at the same time, since pool wiring has specific compliance requirements.

Yes. There's no roof space above ground floor ceilings, so it takes a considered approach rather than simply pulling cable through. We plan the route to keep cutting to a minimum, and we'll tell you honestly up front where a small amount of patching is unavoidable.

Absolutely, it's one of our most common Secret Harbour jobs. We install weatherproof power points, ceiling fans, strip heaters, lighting and TV or speaker cabling, all on properly protected circuits and using fittings rated to survive the coastal conditions.

Often it needs upgrading first. We assess the existing board and your total load, then either upgrade it or install the charger with load management so the pool, air conditioning and car can all run without tripping the main switch.
