Fast, Reliable Electrical Services in Port Kennedy

Port Kennedy sits between the coast and the Rockingham Lakes wetlands, and it's a genuine mix: family homes from the 1990s and 2000s, beachside units and townhouses, and a working light-industrial estate. That gives us more variety here than almost anywhere else in the region. One call is a failing safety switch in a thirty year old home, the next is three-phase to a workshop off Mandurah Road. We're based in neighbouring Rockingham, so Port Kennedy is a few minutes up the road. Our licensed electricians (WA Electrical Contractor Licence EC15334) work to Australian Standards and quote honestly before we start.

Common Electrical Issues We Fix in Port Kennedy Homes and Businesses

Port Kennedy's housing mostly dates from the 1990s and early 2000s, which puts a lot of it at the age where original equipment starts failing. Add the units, the wetlands and the industrial estate, and this is what we see:

Safety switches past their service life

RCDs don't last forever. Plenty of Port Kennedy homes still have the original safety switches fitted when the house was built, and after twenty-five years they either nuisance trip constantly or, far more dangerously, fail to trip at all when tested. We test what's there, show you the result, and replace anything that no longer does its job.

Switchboards with no room left

Boards from this build era were sized for a much simpler house, and they're now physically full. When you want a circuit for an EV charger, a workshop or a new aircon system, there's simply nowhere to put it. Rather than cramming in another device, we replace the board with one that has capacity and proper RCBO protection on every circuit.

Units, townhouses and strata properties

Port Kennedy has more units and townhouses than most suburbs around it, which brings its own complications: common property lighting, shared supply arrangements, working out where a strata's responsibility ends and an owner's begins, and getting access sorted before we arrive. We deal with strata managers and owners regularly and know how to keep both sides informed.

Workshops, three-phase and the Business Park

Unlike most of the coastal suburbs nearby, Port Kennedy has a working light-industrial area. We handle three-phase supply and faults, machinery and compressor circuits, high-bay workshop lighting, test and tag, and the electrical side of fit-outs for trades, storage and workshop tenancies.

Moisture in underground and outdoor circuits

With the wetlands close by and a high water table through parts of the suburb, moisture works its way into underground conduit, garden lighting, outdoor power points and ground-level meter boxes. It usually shows up as an RCD that trips after rain. We trace the leak to earth properly instead of just resetting the switch and hoping.

Port Kennedy Electrician FAQs

Clear answers to common residential and commercial electrical queries

Very quickly. Port Kennedy borders our home suburb of Rockingham, so it's only a few minutes up the road. Most jobs can be booked same-day, and for emergencies we operate 24 hours with a typical arrival inside the hour.

Sometimes, though just as often it's doing its job and there's a genuine fault on a circuit. In a Port Kennedy home of typical age the RCD itself may also simply be worn out. We test the device, isolate the circuits one by one to find the actual cause, and only replace hardware that has genuinely failed.

Not safely into a board with no capacity, so in most cases we replace the board. A new switchboard gives you room to grow, individual RCBO protection on each circuit, and the headroom to add a charger, air conditioning or a workshop circuit later without starting again.

Yes. We handle three-phase supply and fault finding, machinery and compressor circuits, high-bay lighting, test and tag and complete fit-outs for workshop, storage and trade tenancies across the estate.

Yes, we work with both individual owners and strata managers. We're used to sorting out common property lighting and shared supply, clarifying who is responsible for what before work starts, and arranging access so the job runs smoothly.
