Fast, Reliable Electrical Services in Karnup

Karnup is a suburb in the middle of changing. Large semi-rural lots, horse properties and bushland still make up most of it, while new estates push down from Baldivis and planning continues for the future train station and housing precinct off Paganoni Road. That means we're doing rural work and new-estate work in the same suburb, sometimes in the same week. We're based in Rockingham just up the road, and our licensed electricians (WA Electrical Contractor Licence EC15334) work to Australian Standards on both sides of it.

Common Electrical Issues We Fix on Karnup Properties

Semi-rural blocks carry infrastructure that suburban homes simply don't have, and most of it is the owner's to maintain:

Private power poles and long service runs

Plenty of Karnup blocks have privately owned poles carrying supply from the street to the house or shed, and those poles are yours to maintain. We inspect them for rot and lean, repair or replace where needed, and can convert the run underground.

Stables, arenas and equestrian properties

Horse properties need more power than people expect: tack room lighting and points, float charging, wash bay circuits, arena floodlighting and mains supply to electric fence energisers. We install it all rated for a dusty outdoor environment and safely away from stock.

Septic and effluent pump systems

Karnup blocks aren't on sewer, so many rely on a leach drain pump or an aerobic treatment unit with its own pump and alarm. When that alarm sounds we fault-find the pump, controller and float switches and get it running again.

Rural supply that no longer suits the property

A lot of Karnup homes still run on a modest supply set up decades ago for a much simpler house, and it stops coping once you add ducted air conditioning, a workshop and a second dwelling. We assess the mains and switchboard and upgrade to match.

EV charging in detached garages and sheds

On acreage the garage or shed is often well away from the house, so an EV charger means a long cable run and a proper sub-board. We size it for the distance and set up load management so the rest of the property isn't affected.

Karnup Electrician FAQs

Clear answers to common residential and commercial electrical queries

Karnup is a straight run south from our Rockingham base, so most jobs are booked same-day or next-day. Emergency callouts run 24 hours, and we'll give you a realistic arrival time rather than an optimistic one.

If it's a private pole on your land carrying supply to your house or shed, it's yours to maintain. Leaning or rotted poles need dealing with before they fail. We inspect the pole and the attachments, replace it where needed, or run the supply underground instead.

Yes, it's regular work for us out here. We install arena floodlighting positioned to avoid glare and shadows, plus tack room power and lighting, wash bay circuits, float charging points and supply to electric fence energisers, all rated for the conditions.

Usually. The alarm is generally telling you the pump isn't shifting effluent, which can be the pump itself, the float switch, the controller or the circuit feeding it. We diagnose the electrical side and repair or replace it, and let you know if a plumber needs to be involved.

Yes, though distance matters. A long run needs correctly sized cable to avoid voltage drop, and often a sub-board at the shed. We work out the right setup for the distance and your existing supply so the charger performs properly.
